Passaic County Hosts First Annual Non-Profit Summit

The Passaic County Board of Chosen Freeholders will host its first annual Non-Profit Summit on Friday, September 29th at the Public Safety Academy, 300 Oldham Road in Wayne, NJ. The summit will provide the non-profit and faith-based communities that operate within Passaic County with resources and guides to aid their organizations.

“Our non-profit and faith-based communities in Passaic County provide essential services to some of our most vulnerable residents,” said Freeholder Director Sandi Lazzara. “The county has resources that can be of assistance to these organizations and the families they serve. By providing resources to these groups, we are strengthening their impact and improving the quality of life for all Passaic County residents and families.”

Department Heads from various divisions will hold workshops and seminars, which include senior services, disability services, veteran services, home improvement and utility payment assistance, procurement procedures, social services, and economic development incentives. Information will also be provided to all of these organizations through the Passaic County Freeholders Office.  The goal of this summit is to open communications and create a one-stop shop where organizations and residents can attain all of the information that is available on programs that can better their lives.

“Passaic County is a diverse region, with areas ranging from urban cities to rural farms to suburban neighborhoods, and that means a wide range of people with different needs,” said Freeholder Deputy Director Bruce James. “There are a great deal of non-profits and faith-based organizations that work in our county and have overlapping purviews. This summit will provide them with resources, as well as connect them with similar organizations so they can work together to achieve better results.”
