Founded in 1892, the Passaic County Golf Course is one of the first 100 golf clubs to be established in the United States (GOLF Magazine, January 1995). The golf course, situated in Preakness Valley Park next to the historic Dey Mansion, is comprised of two eighteen-hole courses, practice greens, and a shag field. The golf course, open from dawn to dusk, is a year round facility and only closes on Christmas and New Year’s Day.
The Passaic County Golf Course is an accessible facility with self-propelled golf carts available. To reserve a self-propelled golf cart please call the Recreation Department at (973) 225- 3840, and either a physician’s note or a handicapped parking permit will be required to make a reservation.
The Passaic County Board of Chosen Freeholders have made it possible for the golf course to be the host facility for all matches and tournaments of the county’s numerous high school golf teams, and all golf team members are allowed to play in the months of July and August for only $1.00 per round of golf.
