County Treasurer


The Office of the County Treasurer has numerous responsibilities including:
  1. Monitor the receipt and deposit of all funds of the County in depositories designated by the Board of Chosen Freeholders and report quarterly to the Board or more often as provided by law, amounts deposited, the institutions of deposit, and rates of interest.

  2. Manage the investment of County funds pending their need for disbursement and have custody of all investments and invested funds of the County government, or in the possession of the County in a fiduciary capacity, except as may be otherwise provided by law.

  3. Administer the County department, and have the safekeeping of all bonds and notes of the County and the receipt and delivery of County bonds and notes for transfer, registration of exchange.

  4. Provide for each warrant check to be authorized, signed and countersigned.

  5. Has access to safe deposit boxes used or rented by the County.

  6. Shall complete a central payroll for the County and prepare the necessary checks for signature.

  7. Responsible for the County Insurance Program.
