Association of New Jersey Household Hazardous Waste Coordinators - New but growing, this site has been developed to assist residents with information on a county-by-county as well as to provide links to related sites for proper disposal of hazardous materials. Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Network – Comprehensive resource for DOE’s energy efficiency and renewable energy information, plus access to more than 600 links and 80,000 documents.

Energy Star: Money Isn’t all You’re Saving (USEPA) – Energy Star is a dynamic and constantly changing government/industry partnership site that makes it easy for any consumer to find energy efficient products locally and increase the comfort and cost efficiency of homes.  For businesses, Energy Star provides  benchmarks as well as recognition for exemplary products and homes.

ENN Online - The Environmental News Network features top environmental news from around the world in association with Reuters, Knight-Ridder/Triune, Associated Press and other leading news organizations.

Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) - For more than 30 years the EDF has been committed to educating the public about important environmental issues.

The Environmental Hotline - Earth's 911 - a comprehensive database on recycling, household hazardous waste, buy recycled information.  All our Passaic County information is included.

Keep America Beautiful - this nationwide non-profit organization has developed a network of programs that involves millions of volunteers to educate individuals about the ways to prevent litter as well as to reduce, reuse and recycle.

Master Composter - a site dedicated to helping individuals to start and maintain their backyard composting including sections on frequently asked questions, step by step instructions and educational resources.

Office of Water at USEPA – Information on ways to protect our Nations water resources.  Includes a resource library, databases and software, information on the water where you live and a great kid’s section.

Reuse Your Trash - A huge listing of ideas for reusing items rather than throwing them away. the webmaster wants your ideas to add to the list.

Sierra Club: Encouraging Bicycling -  It’s likely that cycling will continue to grow in our area.  Find out more information on biking and encouraging their use.

United States Environmental Protection Agency - You may be surprised at how much data and general information is available through the federal government.

State of New Jersey - Access this site for state-wide information as well as more localized information.

New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection - Access this site through the state for the latest on this department’s activities.

Northeast Recycling Council(NERC) - NERC was established in 1987 by the eastern region Council of State Governments to ensure the long-term viability of recycling in the Northeast. Read the State reports and the special studies conducted by this organization.

Pennsylvania Resource Council(PRC) - An organization started back in the 1930’s and still going strong.

Association of New Jersey Recyclers(ANJR) - A non-profit organization of professionals committed to environmental sustainability through sound resource management.

Cornell University's Waste Management Institute - A number of education related documents and research project summaries including their "Trash Goes to School" curriculum materials and waste reduction through consumer education.

Environmental Education Link(EE Link) - Developed by the Environmental Education and Training Partnership this site not only provides classroom resources and activities but also publications and databases for educators.
