The Passaic County Board of Taxation

The Passaic County Board of Taxation hears municipal tax appeals, prepares equalization tables, and strikes tax rates for all municipalities in the county.

Filing Deadlines

Do not file your tax appeal until on or after February 1, 2015 after you receive your assessment card, but no later than the appeal deadline date (see appeal deadline dates below).

Regular Petition of Appeal

On or before April 1, 2015


Towns having completed a municipal revaluation/reassessment for 2014 filing deadline is on or before May 1, 2015.  They are:

                                            Prospect Park
                                            Woodland Park

The filing deadline for Wayne Township is  April 16, 2015.

The filing deadline for Passaic City is May 1, 2015.

The City of Paterson has been granted an extension for completion of the City's property revaluation.  Filing of tax appeals for 2015 will begin once property assessment postcards are mailed (Chapter 75 mailing). 

The filing deadline will be extended to 45 days after the mailing of postcards.  Check this website for updated news regarding the filing of Paterson tax appeals.
