Annual Events

The Passaic County Board of Chosen Freeholders recognize the value our parks have to residents and families. To enhance the use of the parks and to provide citizens with additional recreational opportunities, the county holds regular annual events, all the information of which can be found here. Save the Date 2019 Passaic County Fair  Passaic County Fair 2019

The Friends of Passaic County Parks, Inc. in partnership with the Passaic County Board of Chosen Freeholders hosts the annual County Fair at the Garret Mountain Reservation. This year the Fair will be held August 15 to August 18, from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, and 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. 

Highlights include two fireworks shows on Friday and Saturday, amusement rides, a petting zoo and pony rides, Chess Tournament, a full four days of bands, and a daily 50/50 drawing. 
   
Art in the Park 2019

Art in the Park is an annual, two-day event that includes a dozen bands, food trucks, with over a hundred artists with art displays and various activities to offer patrons. It is an opportunity for artists to sell work, gain exposure and interact with the community and other artists. 

This year's Art in the Park will be held on September 14 to 15 in beautiful Goffle Brook Park in Hawthorne, New Jersey.

Paws in the Park 2019  Paws in the Park 2019

Paws in the Park is a special annual event that takes place at Goffle Brook Park in Hawthorne. Every year, Paws in the Park holds a celebration that honors our pets and finds forever homes for local pets in need of adoption. All proceeds from the event go towards the Passaic County Sheriff's Department K-9 unit, which patrols the parks and county-owned properties. 

Paws in the Park 2019 will be on Saturday, October 12. This event will include pet adoptions, demonstrations by the Sheriff's Department K-9 Unit, microchipping, food trucks and more. For more information, please visit the Paws in the Park Facebook page.
