Paws in the Park
Paws in the Park is a special annual event that takes place at Goffle Brook Park in Hawthorne. Every year, Paws in the Park holds a celebration that honors our pets and finds forever homes for local pets in need of adoption. All proceeds from the event go towards the Passaic County Sheriff's Department K-9 unit, which patrols the parks and county-owned properties.
Paws in the Park 2019 will be on Saturday, October 12. This event will include pet adoptions, demonstrations by the Sheriff's Department K-9 Unit, food trucks, microchipping and more. For more information, please visit the Paws in the Park Facebook page.
Memorial Pet Garden
As part of an initiative to protect our K-9s, Passaic County is offering memorial bricks for people to purchase. These bricks are placed in the Pet Memorial Garden, at the foot of the hill by beautiful Lambert's Castle. These bricks will surround our Sheriff's K-9 memorial, for K-9s that retired or fell in the line of duty. The proceeds of these bricks will benefit the Passaic County Sheriff's K-9 unit and are tax deductible. The form for the bricks can be found here.
