Have we left out a business?
We are starting to prepare an update for "Choose to Reuse." You can help us by
sending your ideas, comments and suggestions
- Donate books, toys and games that your family has outgrown to a
hospital, nursing home, preschool, day care center or other special organization so they
can be used by others.
- Donate flowers and plants to local hospitals, nursing homes or senior
centers. These could just make someone's day.
- Donate used clothing and sneakers. Even if they are no longer
wearable, organizations send cloth to be recycled into cleaning rags and sneakers to be
recycled into roadway materials.
- Donate televisions, VCR's, stereos, computers, furniture, office
equipment, kitchen appliances, power tools and so forth, even if they are out of service,
because many organizations and individuals repair them.
- Donate used paperback books to a local senior center so they can be
enjoyed by many others.

as popular as ever.

There are many volunteer organizations, social service groups and
churches that handle good used items. These groups, and even some individuals, take these
items to clean up and repair for resale or reuse.

Consider renting larger items instead of buying them. This saves you
the cost of purchasing, any problems with storage and eventually disposing of items used
only occasionally. Rental shops stock everything from trucks to chain saws to party
supplies!
