Call for Artists: Dundee Island Public Art Project 2019
The County of Passaic, City of Passaic, and The Trust for Public Land have partnered to develop plans to construct a new park along the Passaic River, beginning by engaging local residents in discussions about Dundee Island Park and how it can be redesigned to meet the community’s needs. Funding for the community engagement component of the project came from a grant from Passaic County and from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection’s Passaic River Restoration Grant Program. Plans for the new park include four (4) sites that are identified as possible locations for public artwork. The Passaic County Board of Chosen Freeholders and the Department of Cultural & Historic Affairs seek to commission individual professional artists or artist teams to design, fabricate and install site-specific artwork(s) for the Dundee Island Park Project in the City of Passaic.
