Archery 2019Come Try Archery

Archery is one of the world's oldest sports, and you can enjoy free classes hosted by the Passaic County Board of Chosen Freeholders and Rutgers 4-H Cooperative Extension of Passaic County.

From 2 to 4 p.m. on May 4, May 18, June 1, June 15, July 6 and July 20, join us for free archery classes at the Great Meadow in Garret Mountain Reservation, located at 8 Mountain Ave in Woodland Park. All instructors are seasoned professionals that teach the sport of archery in a safe and family-friendly environment.

Birdwatching 2019Bird Watching

Get to know the birds of Garret Mountain at this free bird watching event, hosted by the Passaic County Board of Chosen Freeholders and the New Jersey Audubon Society. The group will meet in the three tiered lot at 8:30 a.m. Please bring your own binoculars.

Fly Fishing 2019Free Fly Fishing Clinic

Looking for a new way to enjoy some time outdoors? On June 6 from 6:30 p.m. to dusk, join us for a free clinic on fly casting. This event is open to the public and all materials will be provided.

Meditation 2019Meditation in the Park

Meditation can help improve awareness and focus, reduce stress and improve emotional well being. Enjoy free classes at Garret Mountain this summer, sponsored by the Passaic County Board of Chosen Freeholders. 

Join us in Garret Mountain's Great Meadow every Monday at 9:30 a.m. and every Saturday at 10:30 a.m. for this soothing class. Classes begin June 17.

Yoga 2019Free Yoga Sessions

Looking to relax this summer? Join us at Garret Mountain's Overlook and Goffle Brook Park's Fitness Circuit for free yoga classes. Classes are designed for all skill levels. 

Classes will be held in Goffle Brook Park every Monday at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday at 10 a.m., beginning June 17. 

There will be no class on July 22.

Classes will be held in Garret Mountain at the Overlook, every Thursday and Saturday at 9:30 a.m., starting June 20.

Fitness Training 2019

Free Fitness Training

You don't need a gym membership to get fit and exercise.  Get classes from trained professionals on how to use Goffle Brook Park and Weasel Brook Park's outdoor fitness circuits. Classes are designed for every level, and you can come to any class at any time. 

Starting June 20, classes will be held in Goffle Brook Park every Thursday and Saturday at 9 a.m. Classes in Weasel Brook Park will be held every Friday at 6:30 p.m.

Dance Yoga 2019Shake Your Soul

Get into the groove with an exciting new take on yoga - Shake Your Soul. 

Shake Your Soul is a movement practice that relaxes your nervous system, energizes your body, and awakens your soul through a powerful, fluid dance repertoire set to world music. This class is designed for all skill levels and there is no special clothing or equipment necessary.

Classes start June 22. Join instructor Amelia Sorce at the Boathouse at Garret Mountain Reservation every Saturday at 9 a.m. for this new way to meditate. 

Dog Training 2019Free Dog Training

Does your family have a new dog or puppy that needs to get trained? You do not have to spend a fortune training Fido. 

Come to Passaic County's free dog training sessions in Goffle Brook Park in Hawthorne. Each session is guided by a licensed professional. 

Bring your dog to the Goffle Brook Park Dog Run every Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. for free training. The first class will be held on June 25. Classes will resume July 9 and continue throughout the summer.

Taekwondo 2019
Taekwondo Classes

Learn the art of taekwondo from the masters of Cho's Taekwondo Academy. Taekwondo is a form of martial arts that teaches physical and mental discipline. In this class, you will learn to defend yourself, how to set and achieve goals and how to improve focus. Classes are open to all ages. 

Classes are held every Tuesday at 9 a.m. in Goffle Brook Park in Hawthorne.
