So You Sewing & Design Studio will host hand-sewing workshops where students will hand-make a different usable project, such as pillows and pencil cases! (Ages 5-8)

Critter Care Critter Care: Animal Education Workshop

Critter Care is an educational program that teaches children the importance of proper animal care, as well as the responsibility of owning a pet. Each week, the Farm Chicks will provide a hands-on learning lesson about a different featured animal. They will teach proper care and maintenance for each animal and provide fun crafts and activities regarding that animal. Children can also partake in a live animal petting. (Ages 6-9)

Forest bathing is not taking a leisurely walk in the woods to enjoy the scenery. There's a specific intention in the practice to connect with the natural world and to gain benefit and energy from it. In other words, you are bathing in the energy of the trees, leaves, sky and earth. Think of it as a guided, meditative, healing hike through the forests with host Gerti Schoen. (All Ages)

Kids to Parks Day is a nationwide celebration of the great outdoors organized by the National Parks Trust and is designed to connect kids and families with their local, state and national parks and public lands. By discovering and exploring our public lands, kids across the country can learn about park stewardship, outdoor recreation, STEM science (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) and the history of our country. Because kids need parks - and parks need kids! At Garret Mountain Reservation, we're going to have fishing lessons, guided nature hikes, archery lessons, inflatable rides for kids, pony rides, a petting zoo, the Montclair Art Museum's Art Truck and plenty more for the kids to enjoy! Wiffle Ball Passaic County Wiffleball Tournament

Backyard Olympics Passaic County Backyard Game Olympics

Grab your partner and go toe-to-toe with all the other backyard game competitors in the first every Backyard Game Olympics. You and your partner can choose to enter one or all of the competitions: cornhole, ladder ball, Kan Jam and Spike Ball. There will be one winning pair from each backyard game, and one grand champion that scores the most points while competing in all four events. (All Ages)

In this four-week workshop, we will learn some of the basic elements of the craft of writing and telling our own stories. We will read excepts of fine memoirs to show us ways we might want to employ in our own writing, and each participant will have the chance to share a piece of their own writing with the group. Our Professional Ski Instructor of America certified instructor will be teaching you the basics of cross-country skiing including what equipment is needed ,what clothing to wear, skills and strengths needed, where to cross-country ski, safety tips and more! We will also be collecting the names and emails of everyone in attendance so when the first major snowfall happens, we can plan a meet-up to put our lessons into action!
