The Passaic County Police Academy offers a number of In-Service Training programs for those associated within the Law Enforcement Field.
Our curriculum includes numerous courses, which address the technical and practical needs for law enforcement personnel.
We are committed to providing quality education to our law enforcement personnel and our goal is to enhance the educational level and skills, which will assist an officer to perform in the most professional manner possible.

Date Change: Work Zone Safety T.T.T. for Police (Rutgers)
April 15 - 18, 2019
This program, offered in-conjunction with Rutgers Center for Advanced Infrastructure and Transportation, prepares Law Enforcement personnel to serve as a Work Zone Safety certified trainer within their department or to fellow departments for officers working on state and federally funded projects. The program also includes beneficial information and guidance for local projects and compliance.

Crossing Guard Training and Resources Course, Train the Trainer
May 15, 2019
This training will include discussion of crossing guard hiring, training and supervising procedures, state and federal law and regulations, and hands-on practice to conduct similar training for crossing guards in your community.
Interview and Interrogation
June 11 - 13, 2019
This is three-day course focuses on the application of interview and interrogation techniques and principles. Officers are instructed in identifying body language, which can be used during field interviews and motor vehicle stops.
October 23, 2019
This course will teach Law Enforcement Professionals how to better prepare themselves for courtroom encounters by learning how the Prosecution and Defense attorneys present cases and how a Superior Court Judge perceives the case. A mock trial will be conducted at the Wayne Municipal Court. Participating will be a retired Passaic County Superior Court Judge, a retired County Prosecutor and Defense Attorney.
