The Passaic County Police Academy offers a number of In-Service Training programs for those associated within the Law Enforcement Field.


Our curriculum includes numerous courses, which address the technical and practical needs for law enforcement personnel.

We are committed to providing quality education to our law enforcement personnel and our goal is to enhance the educational level and skills, which will assist an officer to perform in the most professional manner possible.

Course Announcements 

Date Change: 9-1-1 Train the Trainer
March 4 - 6, 2019
The purpose of this course is to provide the 9-1-1 Instructor candidate with the knowledge and skills necessary to certify others with a NECI Basic 9-1-1 certification curriculum. Once the Instructor Candidate completes this course they are able to train and certify other students as 9-1-1 Dispatchers. 

PTC-Certified Humane Law Enforcement Officer Waiver Training for Police and County Investigators
April 1 - 4, 2019
In order to hold the position of Humane Law Enforcement Officer, all police officers and county investigators must be certified by the Police Training Commission. This four-day training program meets the waiver requirements established by the Police Training Commission for Police Officers and County Investigators who have been appointed as County or Municipal Humane Law Enforcement Officers.

Date Change: Work Zone Safety T.T.T. for Police (Rutgers)
April 15 - 18, 2019
This program, offered in-conjunction with Rutgers Center for Advanced Infrastructure and Transportation, prepares Law Enforcement personnel to serve as a Work Zone Safety certified trainer within their department or to fellow departments for officers working on state and federally funded projects. The program also includes beneficial information and guidance for local projects and compliance.
