In-Service Training Rules & Regulations
  • Registration - Mandatory for all classes.
  • Start Time - 8:30am to 3:30pm, unless otherwise specified.
  • Dress Code - Proper dress consists of:
    • Business suit and tie
    • Business casual
    • Regular department uniform
    • Female officers may wear dress slacks, dresses or skirts, or the regular department uniform
  • Smoking - Smoking is not permitted in the building or in the front of the building.  Smoking is only permitted in outside designated areas.  Please use the ashtray. Do not throw cigarette butts on the ground.
  • Cancellation Policy - Verbal notification must be made to the Academy
  • Cellphones - Department or personal radios, cellphones should be set to vibrate or turned off.
  • Breaks - Breaks are given at the discretion of the instructor. Classes normally break for lunch at noon, unless indicated otherwise.
  • Eating / DrinkingFood and beverages are NOT permitted in the  classrooms, auditorium, or corridors.  Students are required to clean up after themselves. All garbage shall be disposed of in the proper receptacles provided. A cafeteria is provided for your comfort.
  • Accidents - All accidents occurring on academy grounds must be reported to the attending instructor and the administration office. An incident form most be completed and retained by the academy.
  • Conduct - In-service students are prohibited from loitering in the hallway or front office, speaking to any recruit / trainee, and from observing any trainee classes.
