Presentation & Teaching Tools
Members of the Passaic County History and Tourism Board have developed a PowerPoint presentation and supplemental teaching materials as a resource for history classes throughout Passaic County. The PowerPoint presentation provides an overview of the county's rich history beginning with the Revolutionary War, the county’s role as the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution, and concludes with the current history of the county’s many important cultural and scenic resources. The PowerPoint was designed to be a fun, educational, and interactive tool to get local area students excited about the history both past and present of Passaic County.
In addition to the PowerPoint, the History and Tourism Board has developed a set of teaching tools that go along with the presentation. These documents include a warm up exercise for students, a corresponding lesson plan for teachers, a list of famous residents, a culminating activity and answer guide, and a selected resources / bibliography page.
Historic Sites Poster
The Passaic County History and Tourism Board, with support from the Passaic County Planning Department, is proud to present the Passaic County Historic Sites poster. This poster was created as part of the 175th anniversary celebration of Passaic County. It highlights 16 of the most historic sites within the county. The poster shows the location of each site on a historic map, includes a picture of the site and all relevant contact information. The poster was designed to educate Passaic County residents and visitors both young and old about the historic sites within the county.
