World Mental Health Day is observed on 10 October every year, with the overall objective of raising awareness of mental health issues around the world and mobilizing efforts in support of mental health.
The Day provides an opportunity for all stakeholders working on mental health issues to talk about what      more needs to be done to make mental health care a reality for people worldwide. The theme for 2014 is “Living with schizophrenia”. (copied from : http://www.who.int/mental_health/world-mental-health-day/2014/en/).

The key to continue the momentum on mental health is to step up advocacy efforts and change the image of mental illness. In the majority of countries, including developed ones, there is no parity of care for mental and physical illnesses. Advocacy efforts are needed to decrease stigma and create a well-informed society on    mental health and disorders. (copied from: http://www.who.int/mental_health/advocacy/en/).

Get involved at MSU in doing your part to decrease mental health stigma at MSU and around the world!
