Code Blue Update - November 24, 2018

UPDATE: Code Blue to be deactivated as of 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 24, 2018.

PATERSON – A Code Blue Alert has been issued for Passaic County beginning at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 21, 2018.

According to the National Weather Service, the forecasted overnight temperatures are expected to fall below 25 degrees Fahrenheit.

In accordance with Passaic County’s Code Blue Action Plan, Code Blue is to be activated when (1) the temperature will reach 25 degrees Fahrenheit or lower without precipitation or 32 degrees or lower with precipitation; or (2) a windfall temperature of zero degrees Fahrenheit or less for a period of two (2) hours or more.

If you are aware of any unsheltered homeless individuals in need of a warming center, please contact the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch at (973) 389-5951 and advise the dispatcher that there is an at-risk individual in need of shelter under the Passaic County Code Blue Alert Plan.
