Code Blue Update - March 10, 2019

UPDATE: The Code Blue alert that was issued on Sunday, March 3, 2019 will be deactivated on Sunday, March 10, 2019 at 10:00 a.m.

PASSAIC COUNTY – A Code Blue Alert has been issued for Passaic County beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 3, 2019.

According to the National Weather Service, the forecasted overnight temperatures are expected to fall below 25 degrees Fahrenheit.

In accordance with Passaic County’s Code Blue Action Plan, Code Blue is to be activated when (1) the temperature will reach 25 degrees Fahrenheit or lower without precipitation or 32 degrees or lower with precipitation; or (2) a windfall temperature of zero degrees Fahrenheit or less for a period of two (2) hours or more.

If you are aware of any unsheltered homeless individuals in need of a warming center, please contact the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch at (973) 389-5951 and advise the dispatcher that there is an at-risk individual in need of shelter under the Passaic County Code Blue Alert Plan.
