The Surrogate Court is seeking an individual to answer and direct phone calls, provide information, and act as a liaison between the Surrogate Court and court applicants. The individual will receive members of the public, determine their reasons for visiting the Surrogate Court and will review applications to ensure that the proper documents are completed. Will also perform various clerical duties as requested. The individual should be a highly motivated full time Keyboarding Clerk 1 who will perform routine, repetitive clerical work involving the processing of documents in a variety of functions. Key enters/types correspondence, documents, reports, and other materials on a computer console or other key entry device.
Examples of work may include:
- Key enters or type information from handwritten information sheet or application form.
- Provide general, routine information in person or over the telephone.
- Edits, proofreads, and performs spelling or grammar checks to ensure accuracy.
- Receives applications, documents, and forms, screens, sorts, and assembles this information for further processing.
- Perform tasks accurately within prescribed time frames.
- Hand stamps legal documents, letters, receipts, and other documents.
- Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English &
- Preferred - Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in Spanish is preferred.
Requirements:
Education: High School diploma or GED
Experience: Prior reception or customer service experience.
