(Trenton) – Squirrelwood Road southbound traffic is scheduled to shifted onto the newly constructed northbound side of the Bridge over I-80 on Tuesday morning as the bridge replacement project advances in Woodland Park, Passaic County. The I-80 eastbound and westbound exits to Squirrelwood Road will remain closed as the next stage of the bridge replacement begins.

Beginning at 7 a.m. Tuesday, December 2, Squirrelwood Road southbound traffic will be shifted onto the newly constructed northbound side of the bridge to begin the next stage of the bridge replacement project. The $12.2 million bridge replacement project will replace the Squirrelwood Road Bridge over I-80 in Woodland Park, Passaic County. The project will be done in stages with the northbound side of the bridge being reconstructed first. Once it is complete, southbound traffic will be shifted onto the newly constructed northbound side of the bridge to allow for the demolition and reconstruction of the southbound side of the bridge. In addition to replacing the bridge, a new traffic signal at the intersection of the I-80 westbound off-ramp and Squirrelwood Road will be installed. The project will include repaving, guiderail replacement, and upgrades to curbs and sidewalks. The project is expected to be completed by spring 2026.
