Passaic County to Host Homeless Connect Day for Individuals Experiencing Housing Insecurity

Paterson, NJ — Passaic County will host its first Homeless Connect Day on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, from 10:00AM to 2:00PM at Calvary Baptist Church, 575 East 18th Street, Paterson, NJ. Bringing together essential services and support for residents experiencing homelessness or unstable living conditions. 
 
This event is designed in partnership with community organizations working towards addressing homelessness across the county. The goal is to connect individuals with services and resources in one location to increase access. A hot meal will be provided, along with health services, social services and information about housing and employment support.   
 
Passaic County Director Commissioner Sandi Lazzara emphasized the importance of coordinated outreach for vulnerable residents: “This event reflects Passaic County’s commitment to meeting residents where they are and ensuring that individuals facing housing instability have access to the services and support they need. By bringing together health care, housing resources, legal assistance and social services in one place, we are helping connect residents to meaningful pathways toward stability and well-being.” 
 
The event is intended for individuals who are unhoused or experiencing housing insecurity, including those staying in shelters, warming centers, temporary housing or other unstable living situations. 
 
Participants will have access to a wide range of services and resources, including: 

  • Housing support and assistance navigating housing resources  

  • Benefits and eligibility assistance  

  • Employment assistance  

  • Health & Wellness Services  

  • Behavioral Health Screenings and referrals 

  • Peer recovery support  

  • Additional Resources  

  • Legal assistance through Legal Services of New Jersey  

  • Scheduling appointments to obtain a Passaic County ID 

 
To ensure accessibility, free transportation will be available for individuals who need assistance getting to the event.

Transportation will return attendees to their original pick-up locations following the event. 
 
Community partners and County departments will be present throughout the day to assist residents, provide information and help individuals begin connecting with longer-term support services.
