Richard P. Cahill is an accomplished financial executive with over 35 years of experience in public finance, accounting, and auditing. He currently serves as Director of Finance for the County of Passaic, where he oversees a $400 million budget and supervises finance, accounts payable, and payroll operations.
Mr. Cahill holds multiple professional certifications, including Certified Public Accountant, Registered Municipal Accountant, Public School Accountant, School Business Administrator, Certified Municipal Finance Officer, and Certified County Finance Officer. His career includes key leadership roles as Chief Financial Officer in several New Jersey municipalities, including the Township Woodbridge and the City of Union City, managing budgets exceeding $100 million and the Borough of Bergenfield with a budget exceeding $40 million.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Cahill served as Assistant Business Administrator and Acting Board Secretary for the Wayne Board of Education, and as Manager of Governmental Services at Lerch, Vinci and Higgins. He began his career as a municipal auditor at Samuel Klein and Company.
A graduate of Seton Hall University with a B.S.B.A. in Accounting, Mr. Cahill is a member of the AICPA and the New Jersey Society of CPAs.
