The Human Resources Department is responsible for overseeing the recruitment and talent acquisition in conjunction with each department for the County of Passaic.  This includes processing applications for employment and addressing inquiries regarding job opportunities through the Civil Service Commission.

In addition to hiring, the department plays a vital role in managing the full employee life cycle from onboarding and orientation to retirement and offboarding.  It is responsible for personnel management, employee benefits administration, labor and employee relations, and Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action compliance. 

Throughout an employee’s career, HR supports performance management, professional development, and engagement while ensuring adherence to labor laws and internal policies.  By guiding employees through each stage of their journey and maintaining a compliant, inclusive, and supportive work environment, the department contributes significantly to the County’s operational success.
