The Department of Senior Services provides and coordinates numerous services and sponsors many activities for senior citizens. Services available within the County include transportation, seasonal cleaning, housekeeping, certified home health aides, telephone reassurance, social adult day care and legal services.

Activities include educational conferences, evening socials, health fairs and trips to various locations. Advocacy efforts on behalf of the senior citizens range from policy development to petitioning elected officials.

The department is an ADRC (Aging Disability Resource Connection) coordinating and providing information and assistance, outreach, in-home evaluations, benefit screenings and care management services. A coordinated effort with the Passaic County Board of Social Services improves access to community programs and services as well as nursing facility placement. The Department of Senior Services further administers the provision of congregate meals, nutrition education and counseling, and home-delivered meals.
