Join Katterine in Weasel Brook Park in Clifton, NJ every Saturday morning in September at 10 AM for FREE Zumba classes!

Zumba combines high energy and motivating music with unique moves and combinations that allow the participants to dance away their worries. It is based on the principle that a workout should be 'FUN AND EASY TO DO' in order for participants to stick to the Zumba fitness program to achieve long-term health benefits. Zumba is not only great for the body, but it is also great for the mind. It is a 'feel happy' workout.

This class is a super fun functional outdoor fitness program suited for all levels of parents and their kids!  Ages 5 and up are welcome to join. Parents must accompany and participate with their child.

Each class will consist of proper warmups, workouts, and cool downs where the athletes will get to learn new movements and how to perform them at their level with good mechanics.  While exercising and having fun together we will emphasize form, consistency, and efficiency!  This program will consist of a variety of movement patterns and will include stretching, games, playing through movement, and strength building.  Each class will be coached and led by a highly qualified and certified trainer from WM Strength and Conditioning.

Masks must be worn and 6 feet of social distancing must be adhered to at all times.

Get the ball rolling with Super Soccer Stars!

This 6-week soccer program will teach your child the fundamentals of the sport, in a fun, non-competitive, educational environment. The dynamic coaches from Super Soccer Stars will not only work with your child to improve their skills, they will also work to help develop their self-confidence and their ability to work as a team. With engaging warm-ups, drills and games, your child is destined to have a great time!

Note: This class is not a drop-off program. Parent/guardians must stay present, but will not be actively participating.

Passaic County Parks and Recreation has partnered with D Best 1 Taekwondo School in Clifton, NJ, to bring you the Little Ninjas program!  This program has a detailed curriculum that focuses on skills to help children enter society with a more confident and enthusiastic outlook. They will become better students at school, better listeners at home and more ambitious towards the future. 

This is a drop-off class. Parents/guardians are NOT permitted to wait in the school due to COVID-19 regulations.

We will take a moderate hike through the forest around several plant communities including wetlands and fields. Will focus on some plant identification as we discuss changing forest landscapes, succession, and the impacts of invasive species. This walk will begin from the green trail to the blue trail and back.

Calling all future astronauts! Zoom off with NJAG to see the moon, planets, and nebulae. Join us to learn more about the night sky and design your own rover for the planet Mars. Design your own Mars rover and send your picture to Recreation@passaiccountynj.org! Your rover can be designed using crayons/markers and paper, recycled materials at home, or even LEGOs!  We can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Exploring the Highlands Region Exploring The Highlands Region

This rocky moderate hike will take us through outcroppings and overlooks that define our New Jersey Highlands region. We will discuss what makes this region so unique, from the geology to the plants to the animals that live here. This hike will begin from the blue trail to the white trail, stopping by to overlook the reservoir and then head back.

Chef It Up! provides fun, healthy cooking classes to kids. They use totally nut-free products and are food allergy-friendly too. They supply everything needed. For cooked items they prepare them as make, take and bake at home with instructions for families to work on at home together.

To finish off our series of fall hikes, we will take an easy hike through the trails at The New Weis Center.
