(Paterson, New Jersey) – On November 5, 2019 Passaic County Freeholders Pat Lepore and Terry Duffy, along with Passaic County Sheriff Richard Berdnik, were each reelected to serve another three-year term. Governor Phil Murphy administered the Oath of Office to the newly reelected Freeholders, whilst Judge George Rhode administered the Oath of Allegiance to Sheriff Berdnik at the January 8th Swearing-In Ceremony.

A Code Blue Aleft has issued for Passaic County, effective 10 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2020.
The Passaic County Complete Count Committee, formed earlier this year to prepare county residents to respond to the 2020 U.S. Census, will launch its 2020 effort on Tuesday, December 17th, 2019 at 10:30AM, releasing videos in five languages, conveying the importance of a complete census count: English, Arabic, Bengali, Gujarati and Spanish.

“Our Passaic County community includes our furry friends, which is why the Passaic County Board of Chosen Freeholders and the Passaic County Sheriff’s Department K-9 Unit join together every year to advocate for our homeless pets through Paws in the Park,” stated Deputy Freeholder Director Cassandra “Sandi” Lazzara.
Construction at Weasel Brook Park will begin on Wednesday, July 10. The park will remain open during construction, with limited areas closed on an as needed basis as the work progresses.
Motion picture filming will take place May 29, 2019 on Straight Street between Essex and Oak Streets in Paterson. Traffic will be impacted.
Filming for an upcoming motion picture will take place in Downtown Paterson for the next several days.

Passaic County will hold a Public Information Center on Thursday, March 14, 2019 between 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM, in the Borough of Fair Lawn Municipal Building located at 8-01 Fair Lawn Avenue, Fair Lawn, NJ.
NJ TRANSIT is working with Passaic, Bergen and Hudson Counties to assess the restoration of passenger service between Hawthorne and Hackensack. Join us Thursday, January 31 from 5-7 PM and Wednesday, February 13 from 6-8 PM for public meetings on the project.
